Tsinghua-Xingrong Water Affairs Advanced Technologies Joint Research Center Inaugurated
To further advance innovation-driven development strategy, Chengdu Xingrong Group Co., Ltd. has joined hands with Tsinghua University to establish “Tsinghua University (School of Environment)–Chengdu Xingrong Group Co., Ltd. Joint Research Center for Water Affairs Advanced Technologies”. On September 21, the opening ceremony of the Joint Research Center was held in Tsinghua University, with the presence of Zhou Yuchuan, the Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Chengdu Municipal Government, Li Benwen, Chairman of Xingrong Group, and Academician He Kebin, Dean of the School of Environment of Tsinghua University.
At the ceremony, Li Benwen, Chairman of Xingrong Group and He Kebin, the academician of Tsinghua University delivered speeches. Li Benwen pointed out that the cooperation between Xingrong Group and Tsinghua University will follow a result-oriented approach and value resources sharing for coordinated development. The two parties will engage in exchanges and cooperation in the R&D of key technologies, the commercialization of R&D results and the building of innovation-oriented platforms. They will work to deliver substantive technological results, provide new opportunities for the Group to nurture advanced technologies and cement core competitiveness, and offer new drivers for the School of Environment of Tsinghua University to expand technology field and enhance R&D capabilities. All these meant to deliver a win-win scenario and achieve common development. He Kebin has charted a blueprint for the Research Center, and stressed that efforts should be made to connect the demands of enterprises with the disciplinary development of the School, so as to better serve national environmental protection.
By founding the Joint Research Center, Xingrong Group and Tsinghua University seek to achieve the integration of industry, university and research. The project will harness the outstanding advantages of the School of Environment of Tsinghua University in talents, technologies, and technology commercialization as well as the operation and management expertise of the Group in water affairs and environmental protection over the past 70 years. By working together, the two partners will strive to overcome difficulties in the development of advanced technologies in water affairs. That will lay a solid foundation for the Group to realize its strategic goals, namely, to shape a global leading enterprise of the field within 5-10 years and to build a new Xingrong by 2020.
